I'm the author of nearly 100 books, including many on my favorite topic: animals! I started my writing career in third grade, when a play I wrote was performed by my class. Since then, I've been a feature writer for a daily newspaper, a managing editor of trade and consumer magazines, and an editor at two children’s book publishing houses. I share my home with 3 dogs and 7 house rabbits (all rescued), volunteer and foster pets for several animal organizations, and am a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
